Missouri casinos, their team members and patrons are supporting numerous charitable organizations throughout the state this holiday season through volunteer events and fundraising activities. Casinos have donated hundreds of meals, team members have volunteered to place wreaths on Veterans’ graves and distributed 300 Christmas trees to Veterans and their families, patrons have donated their slot tickets to support local charities, employees have donated toys and coats, and more.
Some of the organizations that Missouri casinos are supporting this holiday season include the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Veterans Community Project, Mid-Missouri Fisher House, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Kaufman Fund Trees for Vets, Student Santa, Caruthersville Ministerial Alliance, Wreaths Across America and Feed My People. Throughout last year, Missouri casinos contributed $759,000 in cash and in-kind donations to area nonprofit organizations, and casino employees volunteered thousands of hours to help local community organizations.
2023 charitable holiday initiatives at Missouri casinos include:
Century Casino Cape Girardeau
Century Casino in Cape Girardeau is providing up to 300 meals for those less fortunate at the Shawnee Community Center in Cape Girardeau through Student Santa. In addition, Century Cares raised funds and toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
Century Casino Caruthersville
Team members made monetary donations to wear jeans to work and the donations benefitted the Caruthersville Ministerial Alliance, which is providing Christmas food baskets to local families in need. The casino also purchased wreaths for Wreaths Across America and team members of the casino’s Century Cares team placed wreaths on Veterans’ graves.
Hollywood Casino and River City Casino
Hollywood Casino and River City Casino were major sponsors of the Kaufman Fund Trees for Vets program. Team members volunteered to distribute 300 Christmas trees to St. Louis area Veterans and their families. A team member coat drive generated 70 coats that were donated to Feed My People.
Bally’s Kansas City
Through the Bally’s Kansas City Ticket in Ticket Out (TITO) campaign, casino guests can drop their slot tickets, gaming chips or money into donation boxes through December 31 to support Veterans Community Project. In addition, the Bally’s team member toy drive collected three boxes of toys for the Kansas City chapter of Toys for Tots.
Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in Boonville
Isle of Capri donated $2,422 to the Mid-Missouri Fisher House where families of Veterans in need are offered a comforting home away from home.
